On Sunday, September 21, 2025, the Ghana Most Beautiful (GMB) contestants took on a new challenge: embodying the culture, history, and spirit of a region other than their own.
Afedziwa, representing the Central region, stunned the audience with her captivating performance as the voice of Kpando in the Volta region.
With her powerful narration, graceful movements, and vibrant regalia from the “Danyibakaka” festival, Afedziwa brought to life the stories of migration, resilience, and unity that define the Kpando spirit. Her performance earned her two nominations and the first Star Performance Award of the night.

Representing the Upper East region, Asakia won the Most Eloquent Award for her poignant storytelling of the Central region’s “Donkor Nsuo”. This sacred site, where enslaved Africans took their last bath before captivity, was transformed into a river of remembrance, paying tribute to their strength and endurance.

Etornam from the Volta Region, who embodied the Savannah region, won the Best Costume Award for her stunning portrayal of the region’s marriage traditions.

In this rich cultural context, marriage is sealed with sweets and a handkerchief, symbolising purity, peace, and love. Etornam’s costume and performance beautifully captured the essence of the Savannah region’s unique customs.
The GMB 2025 Regional Swap Night was a testament to the contestants’ creativity, cultural appreciation, and dedication to showcasing Ghana’s diverse heritage.
