The Black Starlets ensured that they advanced to the semi-finals of the ongoing WAFU Zone B U-17 Championships after a 3-1 drubbing of Niger on Friday.
Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum’s side needed a win at all cost to advance to the next stage after failing to win their two previous Group A games. They were held to a 1-1 draw by Togo and beaten 3-0 by hosts Ivory Coast.

The team rallied to beat the Nigeriens, who also had a slim chance of making it to the next stage at the expense of the Ghanaians with at least a draw, having beaten Togo 3-1 in their second group game.
Robinho Yao Gavi scored twice and Mark Kagawa Mensah netted a long-range effort as the Ghanaians secured all three points at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro.
Hosts Ivory Coast topped the group despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Togo. They finished on 7 points.
The Black Starlets finished behind them with 4 points.
Ghana will likely face either Burkina Faso or Nigeria in the semi-finals.
