Heart of Lions’ unbeaten run in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League has come to an end following a 3-1 drubbing by champions Bibiani Goldstars SC at the Dun’s Park on Monday, October 20.

The Matchday 6 game was one of two played on Monday to wrap up action for the weekend. Eleven Wonders were held to a goalless draw by Karela United FC.

After early exchanges, which saw Bashir Hayford’s side dominate play, the Miners turned the tide as they put pressure on the visitors.

This paid off in the 36th minute when eventual Man of the Match Richard Kotey Amon broke the deadlock.

It was advantage the champions, who had a disappointing debut in the CAF Champions League, at half time.

After the break, Sampson Eduku made it 2-0 when he scored in the 54th minute.

Though Lions pulled one back through Kwadwo Obeng Jnr, Samuel Atta Kumi scored from the spot to get his third penalty this season and the Miners third in the game.

The win takes the champions from 12th to 7th on the log.

They travel to face Hearts of Oak on Matchday 7.

Heart of Lions, on the other hand, remain fourth on the log and will finally return home after three consecutive away games to play Basake Holy Stars at the Kpando Sports Stadium.
