Head Coach of Nations FC Stephen Frimpong Manso has outlined his vision for the Kumasi-based club, explaining why he took the job, the challenges he has faced with the squad, and his ambitions to win silverware.

Frimpong Manso joined the club on a two-year contract and has been working to rebuild and strengthen the team.

Speaking to Akoma FM, Frimpong Manso explained why he accepted the Nations FC job.

“At the time Nations approached me, I was free and didn’t want to stay out of football for too long. Knowing the club, I thought, ‘Okay, let me consider this job and see how it goes,’ especially since it’s based in Kumasi, and I am also in Kumasi,” he said.

He highlighted the challenges he has faced with the squad.

“Nations has always had good players, but I think their main problem last season was their pre-season. Most of the players currently in the squad did not do pre-season with the team. Some younger players are coming in, while some older ones are leaving, so it has been a bit challenging: it feels like we are building a new team,” he noted.

He also stressed his personal ambition at the club.

“One of my personal goals here is to win a trophy — whether this season or next. That is something I am very determined to achieve while at Nations FC,” Manso concluded.
