Blessed Godsbrain Smart, host of Maakye on Onua TV/FM has analysed how politicians can live up to task with their promises using the traffic light analysis.

He says if he were a lecturer in any of the institutions teaching governance in the country, he would have applied the traffic light analysis to teach his students.

Explaining the significance of traffic in governance and leadership, he noted the red colour represents danger which means they must apply caution in their decisions and policies.

Also, the red light according to him implies taking a pause to dialogue on certain decisions with opponents and other minds “just as two strangers can stop in traffic, each in their vehicles and be having a conversation on the traffic situation or any other topic of interest.”

Captain Smart explained the red light in governance also offers an opportunity for politicians to stop and have deliberations on national issues for better results.

Explaining the significance of the yellow light in governance, he said politicians must bear in mind the need to apply caution in decision making and “slow down” in their spending.

When politicians are exhibiting their opulence lifestyles, they should bear in mind the need to slow down in order not to fall in a ditch, he said.

Alleging that over 90 per cent of ministers in the NPP government are thieves, he cited the Kwaku-Agyemang Manu COVID-19 expenses; the Alan Kyerematen Komenda sugar plantation and the Akoto Afriyie army worm infestation as part of the examples of scandals under the Akufo-Addo government which shows the ministers spend funds without applying the yellow light in traffic to slow down.

“I can tell you on authority that 98% of ministers in this government are thieves including Alan and Akoto who have resigned. Akoto should have slowed down but he told us he used ₵80 billion to fight army worm infestation. He said he sent ₵700,000.00 to Adom when I was there and I said he is a thief because they were there for just 3 days. So is he telling me the single interview and LPM we read cost him ₵700,000?,” he quizzed.

“Alan Kyerematen was given money to go and plant sugarcane for the Komenda Sugar factory. We didn’t see the sugarcane and the $24 million dollars. For Kwaku Agyemang Manu, the least said the better. How can you tell us you were not thinking straight when you were making the decision?” He slammed.

Meanwhile, Mr. Smart, the broadcaster, indicated the green light in traffic signifies two things in governance.

He said the green means “Go”, but in two dimensions; positive and negative.

The Maakye host asserted a politician would be asked to “go and continue” if he fulfilled his promises and asked to “go home or go to opposition” if he failed to live up to his mandate.
