Ghana’s Ambassador to Turkey, Francisca Ashietey-Odunton, says the Turkish Foreign Affairs Ministry announced that Christian Atsu was found alive and sent to a medical facility.

The Ambassador made the statement whilst speaking with Alfred Ocansey on TV3’s Ghana Tonight Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

According to her, even though the ministry announced that Atsu has been found, the exact hospital he was admitted cannot cannot be found.

After telling her of providing update on the condition of Mr. Atsu, Madam Ashietey-Odunton said no such update has been provided.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Turkey told me that Atsu has been found, rescued and has been sent to a medical facility for medical attention and that they will update me.

“They are working fervently to find which medical facilities they have been sent to.

“The challenge is finding out which facility Atsu has been sent to. I am still waiting for the Ministry to tell me,” she indicated.

She assured of bringing Ghanaians up to speed on any further details that come up.

“They keep assuring me that he was found alive, he was taken to a medical facility for attention. As and when I get any update I will let you know,” she added.

Meanwhile, twin sister of the Ghana International, Christiana Atsupie Twasam, has asked President Akufo-Addo to intervene in rescuing her brother.

She, however, bemoaned the tickling of the family’s emotions through publication of false news without confirmation from a section of the media and individuals who flood social media with false information.
