The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has named Head Coach of the national U-20 men’s soccer team, Desmond Ofei, as an Assistant Coach for the Black Stars.

This follows an announcement on Tuesday of changes made to the Technical Team.

The changes saw Joseph Laumann kicked out as John Paintsil retained his role as an Assistant Coach.

Ofei was last Friday named Coach of the Year by the Sports Writers’ Association of Ghana (SWAG), having led the Black Satellites to glory in the 2023 African Games.

He also led the team to win Silver in the WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship, booking a ticket to next month’s Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Aside Ofei, German tactician Winfried Schäfer was appointed onto the Technical Team as a Technical Advisor.

He will double as the Director of Football for the GFA.

A Chief Video Analyst in the person of Gregory De Grauwe has also been appointed.

Kris Perquy has also been appointed as the team’s Psychologist.

Dr Prince Pambo and Ameenu Shardow retained their positions as Team Doctor and Team Manager respectively.

Fatawu Dauda will also continue to be the Goalkeepers’ Coach.
